Highlighting the risks of flooding in the Dyfi Valley in Wales as a result of climate change, The Cambrian News (south) newspaper (7th October 2021) quoted Dr Morgan Phillips (author of "Great Adaptations" & Co-director of The Glacier Trust). "Climate scientist and author of Great Adaptations, a book focusing of how communities can adapt in the face of climate change, Dr Morgan Phillips said ... 'Nobody wins when floods hit communities, the damage can be devastating and in some cases fatal ... it makes a lot of sense to factor climate change into planning decisions, especially as average temperatures are going to go on rising ... heatwaves and other forms of extreme weather, including rainfall events that cause dangerous flash flooding, are going to be a more regular occurrence."
