"Manufacturers should be saying 'when the product comes to an end, we're going to be here to claim back all of those materials'" said Joe Macleod in a lengthy interview published in the June/July 2022 issue of 'Civil Engineering Surveyor' - the magazine of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors. Joe, who is the author of 'Ends' and 'Endineering' and founder of andEnd.co, went on to say "As things stand currently, the end of a product's life cycle becomes somebody else's responsibility, for example, the local government's waste management department." Joe, who is a veteran product designer and trains companies on how to 'endineer' better endings for their products, says that most industries will "come to realise that good product ends can actually strengthen their brand."
