On 29th September 2021, 'Spitalfields Life' published a fascinating article by Robert Nurden about his grandfather's involvement with the Voluntary Poverty Movement (founded in 1921 in Bow, London) - a band of revolutionary Christians who chose to be poor in order to understand more fully the lives of the destitute in London's East End. In the article, Robert explains how he came across the movement while researching the life of his extraordinary Grandfather for his book, "Between Heaven and Earth".
